A full zipper is a versatile and functional fastening mechanism that runs the entire length of an item, typically from top to bottom. It is designed to allow complete separation of two connected fabric panels, offering ease of wear and removal. Full zippers are most commonly found in garments such as jackets, hoodies, coats, and jumpsuits, but they are also used in luggage, sleeping bags, tents, and other gear where quick access or secure closure is needed.

The structure of a full zipper consists of two rows of interlocking teeth made from metal, plastic, or nylon, which are attached to fabric tapes sewn into each side of the opening. A slider moves along these teeth, either joining them together or pulling them apart. Many full zippers include features such as a locking mechanism to prevent unintentional opening, weather-resistant coatings for outdoor use, and double sliders for more flexible ventilation.
